Dr. rer. nat. W. Ludwig, born in 1927, studied physics in Berlin and physical chemistry in Freiburg, where he received his doctorate with a thesis on the 'influence of electromagnetic signals on the nervous system'.

In 1984 he founded the Institute of Biophysics in Horb am Neckar (now in Weikersheim), where he researched, among other things, the resonance frequencies of biologically and medically important substances.

Dr. Ludwig has followed Burkhard Heim's work from the beginning and can be considered one of the relatively few experts on the quantum field theory developed by B. Heim and W. Dröscher.

The chapters of this book are filled with highly complex mathematics that may intimidate even experienced experts and may remain incomprehensible to many readers.

Nevertheless, Dr. Ludwig succeeded in conveying some of the fundamentals and consequences of the theory in an understandable way.

Readers who do not have such a deep insight into mathematics may console themselves with the fact that the often denied extraordinary phenomena find here in strictly scientific contexts the place they deserve by pointing beyond the limitations of the prevailing worldviews.

Burkhard Heim, together with the Viennese physicist Walter Dröscher, has completed his theory, which was conceived in the 1950s, to such an extent that it is now (1996) available in a completed form.

An attempt is made to present the most important ideas of this work in a generally understandable way and to indicate their application to modern quantum medicine. In doing so, formulas are largely avoided.
